What is your character’s birth order and did their birth order impact him or her? Why?
--- Shura is the youngest of four in a very family-oriented family. However, as she’s a twin, she has always shared the spotlight with him but she never minded. Shura is very close to all of her siblings, especially Shusuke as they go to the same school and he took her under his wing after Yuuta left.

What are the statuses of the character’s relationships with each family member? Is there calm or conflict? Why?
--- Parents: She gets along with them and talks with them to improve her English (especially to her father). They have a loving relationship with the parents and the baby girl kind of thing.
--- Yumiko: As sisters, they’ve very close as they do things only sisters can do. If Shura wants advice, she’ll talk to Yumiko. She also likes doing tarots with Yumiko; she likes how near accurate she is.
--- Shusuke: They’re very close as Shusuke always tried being the best brother around. Shura’s very proud of Shusuke’s achievements and likes to say that she is the little sister of the famed tensai. Their relationship improved and become closer than ever when Yuuta left.
--- Yuuta: They’re twins, close twins. Growing up they was nearly inseparable but now that they go to different schools, it’s a lot harder on Shura. Plus, Shura tends to act a lot more like Shusuke, which angers Yuuta sometimes. But when it comes down to it, they love each other very much and would do anything for each other. Shura actually listens to Yuuta the most.
--- Shura loves her family and doesn’t like when even the slightest hints of argument comes on – going as far as to start crying or getting upset whenever it happens.

How does your character view authority figures?
--- Shura is very respectful towards authority figures like all of her family.

Does your character generally trust people? Why or why not?
--- Shura is definitely a trusting person by nature, but as time went on, she began looking out more for those who used her to get close to her older brother.

How good of a listener is your character?
--- Shura is an excellent listener for those close to her. She’s loyal to a fault and due to being family-oriented; she’s a nurturing person right alongside Oishi.

Briefly describe the character’s childhood and important events that may impact your story (you’ll likely want to include both good and bad memories).
--- Shura had a normal childhood. She often played with Yumiko girly things or wondered off with her brothers to play tennis with Saeki as a child. It was a shock to her when the Fuji family moved to Tokyo from Chiba and how a year afterwards Yuuta left for St. Rudolph. It took her a while to recover out of the funk she was in, but she eventually did it.

How does the character show love and affection (gifts, acts of service, kind words, etc.)?
--- Shura is a person who wears her heart on her sleeve, which has nearly all her friends and family constantly fretting over her, as she’s more likely to blurt things out no matter how blunt and rude sounding. Shura, however, does try to make a conscious effort to be more polite and offering a smile of encouragement. It does take her a little more effort to get her cheering – she must be excited or else all she’ll do is smile. Nevertheless, she needs to take care of her excitement else her eyes take on the same look her brother has when he’s excited or angry.

How does your character react to people he/she dislikes?
--- Shura can hold quite a grudge; even longer than Shusuke. If she honestly dislikes the person, she tries to ignore them at first or settles for glaring at the person. If they still do not take a hint, she pretends to not know them and/or speaks to them in a very condescending tone.

Does your character prefer lots of friends on a surface level or fewer friends at a deeper level? (Or somewhere in between?)
--- Shura’s friends are mostly the tennis regulars, and her friends from Chiba. Just basically tennis players. Shusuke had tried hard to shield her from people who he recognized to only want to use her. Shura has gotten to know them as friends and are quite close to some of them in particular because she knows she can completely trust them as Shusuke deemed them trustworthy. It’s notable that she gets along with Momoshiro and Kaidoh the most.

Who has influence over your character? Who doesn’t?
--- Her family and perhaps Tezuka and Yamato had/has direct influence over her. The most notable would be Shusuke. Perhaps that’s why she doesn’t take much offense to being known as ‘Fuji’s imouto’ because she knows she acts similar to him than she does her own twin.

How easy is the character to approach? Why?
--- Like Shusuke, Shura is actually quite easy to approach due to her constant smiles and polite manner.

Profession (if it’s a career you’re not really familiar with, spend some time online to get comfortable with the basics of it—learn some professional jargon, but use it sparingly in the actual story.)
--- Manager for Seigaku’s boys’ tennis team. Due to her going through a rough patch, but still wanting to play tennis, Shusuke helped her attain her position to keep an eye on her. Originally, she was planned to be the girl’s manager as she had been a regular at the time, but they all ready had one. Ryuuzaki-sensei agreed to let her manage the boy’s team as they didn’t have an official manager at the time and she was familiar with the boy’s tennis team and how they worked thanks to her helping them out Shusuke’s first year to distract her from missing Chiba so much.

Perspective about their profession. Does your character love his or her work or wish for some other career? What are the best and worst aspects of the position?
--- Shura honestly loves her job as she can spend more time with her brother and her friends. Growing up with males (as her and Yumiko is at least a decade years apart and she was constantly swamped with school) it was naturally easier to get along with them; having a male twin also helped. She finds working alongside her friends as the best aspect. The worse is that she had to deal with complaints from other females for attaining the position they’ve been trying to get for years, and the constant fighting between certain individuals. At the very least, she didn’t need to deal with the males arguing with her.

How important is accomplishment to your character?
--- Accomplishment is very important to Shura. Even if she’s not truly bothered as first being known as Fuji’s imouto, she does like to be recognized as herself and having the thrill of showing people up.

Does your character adapt well to change? Why or why not?
--- Shura is adaptable to change in a tennis match, but not so much off court. Big changes in short times often shock her and she becomes slow to react. She’s also been generally sheltered due to her siblings being overprotective.

How competitive is your character?
--- Shura isn’t all that competitive, but she also can’t stand losing to those who she knows she can beat.

How do the characters co-workers view him/her? Are their perceptions different from the character’s point-of-view?
--- Many of the male tennis team views her as the cutesy sisterly type. None of them want to go through Shusuke’s torture if they were ever to think ‘impure’ thoughts of his beloved little sister. They don’t have death wishes. Furthermore, due to her being rather easy to approach and her polite (if a little mischievous if she’s with Shusuke or Momoshiro), they don’t mind her.

Education (Did your character enjoy school or not? What were their strongest and weakest subjects?)
--- Shura does enjoy going to school, as her class is very entertaining. Her strongest is her favorite, English. She likes to her father in English whenever he goes overseas. Her weakest subject would be mathematics, which constantly has her calling up Yuuta to ask him for help or having that as an excuse so Yuuta could go home.

What would your character’s old teachers say about him/her at a parent/teacher conference?
--- As a Fuji, she is generally praised by teachers – whether for doing excellent or for her effort (especially in math) still needs to be known.

Are there any senses that have something unusual about them? (Example: poor hearing or better than 20/20 eyesight.)
--- As strange as it is, her vision is one of the best in Seigaku or maybe even as good as Sengoku’s. Nevertheless, the strange part to that is that she suffers from night blindness – partial anyhow, everything looks hazy to her. She’s been like that from birth and it hasn’t changed since – she’s learned to live with it and so doesn’t go out past dusk very often without a guide (preferably her family) accompanying her.

Take a look at your character’s speech pattern. Does the character have a regional accent? Does the character talk fast or slow? What time of tone does he/she use? Is he/she monotone or does his or her speech have an up and down melody? How can you convey this indirectly?
--- She has a very soothing tone, quite similar to her siblings (all of that is due to Kaida Yuki voice acting all of the Fuji family shown).

Does your character speak more than one language?
--- Shura can speak both Japanese and English fluently thanks to practicing often and self-study.

What does your character expect his or her future to be like in 10 years?
--- At the current moment, Shura doesn’t expect or know her future in ten years. As a teen, she’s still trying to find her place in the world.

What are your character’s core values?
--- Shura believes in what she believes in. All the same, she values basic etiquette and ethnics. Those simple lines of: “be treated the way you want to be treated” plays an important part on her character. She’s more of a reactor than an initiator.

How does your character dress on a daily basis? Does the character try to stand out or blend in based on their clothing?
--- Shura is normally seen dressed in the school uniform. On more casual outings, she opts for a nice blouse and a pair of shorts that is easy for her to run in.

General Health (Excellent/Good/Fair/Poor)
--- Her general health is quite good. The only time it takes toll on her is when she’s missing Yuuta and he’s unavailable, leaving her sleepless or eating more due to depression.

Daily Energy Level (Hyper, Normal, Fatigued)
--- Shura’s daily energy level is quite normal – it’s only when she’s having a lot of fun and getting excited does she revert to a highly hyperactive female teenager.

Does your character have a mannerism when they are upset or nervous?
--- When she’s upset or anxious (even excited), you can always tell by the look in her eyes. The gaze becomes much more intense and she slams her eyelids shut until she’s really feeling it in what she believes is full blast.

Does your character feel their life is busy, not busy enough, or just right?
--- Shura feels her life is busy just right. She could be doing a lot more stuff, but dedicates her time halfway between responsibilities and personal wants, which manages to occupy most of her time.

Does he/she tend to be accident prone or not?

--- No, Shura is not accident-prone.

Favorite sports to watch and why.

--- Favorite sport to watch is tennis. Shura loved tennis from a young age when Shusuke started teaching her and Yuuta.

Close friends (how did they meet?)
--- Tennis regulars – met them mostly through Shusuke (only exceptions are Momoshiro, Kaidoh, and Echizen).

Enemies (how did they become enemies?)
--- She doesn’t have any (made public) enemies. It’s not because everyone likes her (Heaven only knows how much some of the fan girls want to throttle her for being so close to their idols Fuji’s imouto or not), but no one (not even the rabid fan girls) are stupid or suicidal enough to mess with the Seigaku boys’ tennis club’s little/big sister. That, and Shusuke’s wrath is absolutely frightening and no one wants to mess with him. Everyone knows how protective Shusuke is over his younger siblings.

Artistic/musical talents:

--- Shura is a fairly good singer (Kaida Yuki anyone?) But she’s horrendous at art, beyond the very basics anyway.

Sports/Physical abilities:
--- She’s fairly good at tennis with her own talents. Competing with the girls is easy for her, but she runs into a bunch of obstacles against the boys. Despite all her efforts, she’s never won against Shusuke (though she beat Yuuta a few times), Tezuka, Kawamura, Momoshiro, Kaidoh, and Echizen. She doesn’t have any special techniques compared to everyone else. She is noted for her serve and near flawless accurate backhand and having great accuracy. Her speed is also great (a little slower than Kamio), and she often likes to perform Ghost in to the net play when possible.

If trapped on an island, what skill does your character have that would make him or her an asset?
--- She wouldn’t have anything special enough to be an outright asset, but she’d be right there planning with Inui, Shusuke, and Tezuka and offering her two cents when she finds it appropriate. She’d also be completely obedient and drag the rest down that path. She’s a people pleaser when it comes to some of the tennis regulars.

Does your character like to try new things? Why or why not?

--- Shura doesn’t really like to try new things on a personal level. Perhaps if she wants to do it then she will like it. Otherwise, not all that much.

What would make your character feel their most vulnerable?
--- When anyone picks on her does she become vulnerable. She’s not all for confrontation unless completely angered, but that’s rare. All of that is due to witnessing the hit on Tezuka’s elbow. Even to this day, she freezes when she sees a fight and constantly scolds Momoshiro and Kaidoh when they go too far.

Sense of Humor (dry, sarcastic, witty, or silly/goofy)
--- Perhaps a lighter version of Shusuke’s seemingly dark sadistic humor. She can take a joke and dish it right back out, but she prefers to leave that to the jokesters.

Greatest Achievement:
--- Shura’s greatest achievement is the first time she beat Yuuta in singles. Their current score is 10:23, Yuuta in the lead (the count started in their junior high first year, 33 games in all against each other).

Greatest Failure:
--- Her greatest failure that she deems is that she failed to be there for Yuuta when in their first year at Seigaku – the failure to understand how he was feeling. Instead, she gallivanted off. If Yuuta’s brought up at Seigaku, she tends to become very down.

What is your character greatest fear?

--- Shura’s greatest fear is that Yuuta really does resent Shusuke. All Fuji’s are family-oriented people, but Yuuta’s been dealt some hard blows to his pride. Moreover, Mizuki tends to worsen the situation.

How does your character react under extreme stress? Are there hidden aspects of your character that a crisis situation would unveil?

--- As long as Shura’s with someone, she tries hard to work well under stress. If she’s alone, she has to watch herself else she’d panic and never get anything done. However, she’s almost always accompanied wherever she goes.

What’s the best thing that can happen to your character?

--- The best thing that could happen to Shura is that Yuuta would move back home and transfer back to Seigaku, but that won’t happen. She’d settle for hanging out with Yuuta a lot more though.

What is the worst thing that can happen to your character?

--- The worst realistic thing that can happen to Shura is that she gets injured. Shura’s not one to make enemies, but there is always a few every so often who aren’t afraid of Fuji Shusuke. She enjoys playing tennis on a whim and likes to exercise with the regulars, so the thought and happening of her getting injured would be a worse possible happening.

What are some traits that make your character unique?

--- A unique trait, however bad, is her manipulation when she honestly wants something. Shura is willing to put people through guilt trips and do whatever she has to do to get her way, and the majority of the time, Shusuke also helps out. She never dares uses it against any vice-captains or captains or coaches or teachers. But she doesn’t mind using it against everyone else.

Pets/Favorite Animals
--- Shura doesn’t own any pets, however, her favorite animal is the fox.

Has your character ever done something that he or she really regrets? What was it?
--- Shura regrets not being able to see how much Yuuta was truly hurting for simply being Fuji’s little brother. She feels that as Yuuta’s her twin, she should’ve been there with him every step of the way instead of losing herself in tennis to block the pain.

What behavior gets on your character’s nerves?
--- Violent behavior tends to get on Shura’s nerves. Though she tends to become more frightened than irritated when the violent behavior comes from someone she doesn’t know.

If you character was caught channel surfing, what types of shows would he/she be watching?

--- Shura tends to watch variety shows or music channels when she’s not watching English movies.

Favorite movies and why.

--- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005). It’s quite dark if you think about it and Shura can’t help getting a kick out of it.
--- Harry Potter series. She finds Harry’s adventures amusing and how dark it gets in later chapters. What looked like it promised good adventures brought more dark characteristics to it, especially after the fourth movie.
--- Shinobi: Japanese action drama – the only movie that made her cry to date.

How does your character react when someone disagrees strongly with his/her ideas or opinions?
--- Shura doesn’t really like being disagreed with. However, she’ll take in the opinions as long as there’s no verbal attack on her whatsoever. If so, she goes and complains to one of her siblings. First would be Yuuta, but if he’s busy, then Shusuke and Yumiko as she tends to catch them at the same time when at home.

Does your character have a sharp memory or do they tend to forget important information?
--- Shura has pretty good memory, but not as good as Shusuke, Inui, or Tezuka without repetition.

How much does the character pay attention to details?
--- If it interests her, she’ll look at the details.

Is your character easily bored? What does he/she do for fun? What are his/her favorite hobbies?
--- Shura can easily get bored if she doesn’t watch out. Shusuke or Yuuta usually tries to give her something to do or seek Yumiko’s advice on getting her distracted. Shura has a lot of fun watching tennis opposed to playing, which she only likes to play practice matches with Yuuta; that began after their first year of Junior High.

When put in a situation where quick and creative thinking is important, how does your character react?
--- Shura can get quality things done swiftly if the pressure is up and she believes she can do it. Furthermore, it’d help if someone else was there even if he or she didn’t help her.

What practical joke would your character do if given the opportunity? How would he or she react to the same joke directed back?
--- She’s a vixen on the court, so most of the practical jokes would probably be on the court if the opportunity arises. She likes to fake shots all the time if she’s playing doubles. When it is done back to her, she steps up her game and becomes a whole lot more serious.

Is your character honest overall or does he/she tend to lie? Why?
--- Shura is an honest individual. She’d rather make people go through guilt trips than lie because she feels lying is more hurtful.

How clear is your character’s objective or goal? How determined is he/she to reach it?
--- When she has a reachable goal, she works very hard to achieve it.

What are some topics/questions your character is curious to find out in life?

--- Nothing currently more than wondering what she wants to do with her life and how life is going to be in the distant future.

Does your character have a hard time saying “no” to other people? Why or why not?
---Shura always had trouble saying “no” to her close friends and family because she always likes to help them out as much as they help her. However, she has no trouble saying no to everyone else if she feels like it.

How comfortable would your character be if asked to speak in public in front of a large group of people?

--- As manager of the tennis boys’ team (alongside Inui), they speak to the regulars and the rest of the club. Inui and her take turns going back and forth from the regulars to the non-regulars. Shura does tend to act more like an assistant manager to Inui.

Does the character get jealous easily or not? Why?
--- Shura doesn’t get jealous easily. Half the time, she gets what she wants and can easily accept a no even if someone else has it (that’d be classified as envy?). Shura likes having attention towards the guys, but she doesn’t get jealous when other girls or guys grab the attention of the one she wants. Shura would usually go off to find someone that’ll give her attention.

Where has your character traveled previously? What are some favorite/least favorite destinations?
--- Shura’s traveled all over Kanto area thanks to Shusuke being on the tennis team and she follows him to cheer him on or when her family all has vacation and they travel. Out of the entire destinations, she prefers her native prefecture: Chiba.

What is your character’s favorite season? Why?
--- Shura likes spring the best. For one, it’s the beginning of the new school year tennis season and school itself. For two, it symbolizes new beginnings for her.

Is your character mechanically or technically skilled and in what way(s)?

--- Shura is average in technology. She knows the basics of it, but hasn’t had the chance to move on to the complicated parts.

Does your character function at his or her best in a harmonious or chaotic environment?
--- Shura is adaptable in any environmental atmosphere, but prefers a good one where everyone gets along and tension and competition isn’t so high. However, she wouldn’t trade in anything for Seigaku’s chaotic atmosphere, especially when Tezuka’s not in the area. She doesn’t do so well as majority of them are too busy than to listen to her, but it’s still fine for her to help those that is willing.

What flaws or shortcomings does your character have? How does your character feel about them? Is your character aware they exist? What character flaw (or perceived flaw) does your character want to change? What are the sources of these flaws?

--- Being a girl in general is what Shura perceives as a flaw because she always has hard time playing with experienced male players due to her lack of power compared to theirs. She can easily take on the girls, but has hard time with the guys. She’s directly between the two sides. It’s also much harder when her time of the month comes along, as she tends to have mood swings and cramps, which ends up making her just as scary as an angry Shusuke. Her mood swings has her temper flaring every so often for the littlest reasons; it’s during this time where she hardly leaves Shusuke’s side. She also has migraines that happen if she plays a game for more than an hour, most likely due to her advance eyesight in the daytime. Furthermore, her night blindness is a flaw that makes her helpless in the dark, which also plays on her mentality. She hates not being able to see and will freak out or cry if she feels unsafe during those times.

What obstacles hinder your character from changing?
--- An obstacle that hinders Shura from changing is the incident between Tezuka and the third year that injured him. To her, she finds it frightening that teammates can turn against each other when their pride is hurt. The only thing that managed to keep her from becoming completely socially reclusive is that she knew that the third year hadn't liked Tezuka and she can spot genuine feelings. Now more socially reclusive, it became harder to make trusted friends of her own without them starting off as friends of friends e.g. why she’s friends with many tennis players as her siblings trust them. It takes a while for her to warm up to people, but she will if they’re willing to wait for her.

How forgiving/unforgiving is your character when wronged by another person?
--- It takes Shura a long time to forgive a person who has wronged her. She usually does the cold shoulder or glares at them until they go away. Shura’s adept at ignoring people. They have to prove themselves again to her before she’ll think about forgiving them.

If your character’s home was on fire and they could only grab 1 material possession, what would it be?
--- Shura would grab her stuff puppy that Shusuke, Yuuta, and Saeki bought her right before the Fuji’s moved to Tokyo from Chiba.

How does your character act while waiting in line for an hour?
--- If Shura had to wait in line for an hour alone, she’d amuse herself by watching other people to see if there’s diversity between each and what. You’d be amazed at people and item gazing.

What cause or causes is your character passionate about?
--- Shura is passionate about girls being good tennis players even if she thinks being a girl hinders some process. Shura trains often with the guys to become just as good as them. She admires the William sisters and Justine Henin as role models for upcoming female tennis players.

What would make your character laugh, cry, or become angry?
--- Shura likes to laugh, and simply watching Seigaku’s tennis male regulars is enough for that. Shura cries when there is a dispute between her friends that gets taken to far (and if it doesn’t happen on a daily bases like Kaidoh and Momoshiro). Shura becomes angry when someone wrongs her family or friends (not including when she’s having her time of the month).

What secret would embarrass your character if it was released? Who knows this secret?
--- A secret that would embarrass Shura if found out is that she once had a crush on Saeki Kojirou – it’s even worse that her entire family knew it too!

Is your character more effective at a certain time of day? (Morning, afternoon, evening, night) How does that impact his or her life? How can you incorporate it into their behavior (yawning, etc.)?
--- Shura is more effective in the morning and afternoon. She’s a lot more aware and energetic. Moreover, that’s when people get to see her as she tries avoiding going out late evenings or night due to her night blindness without anyone being there with her.
